summertime is over?

That's how I feel right now. It's the first day of school for Ryan and although I'm excited to make these for his after school treat (last year we went old school and did rice krispies) it's a rainy day today and I'm a little heartbroken that the sun is gone. I know it won't be gone for long and I'm excited for autumn and fall, but man, this summer was just so fun.

On another note, I decided to go on an outing with Henry today and got Henry dressed in some cute shorts and a shirt, packed my big 'ol camera to take some pictures at the park before we headed to the store, walked up the stairs to the front door and saw that it was raining. Maybe I should check the weather before getting ready for big events. It seems as though I haven't learned a thing about living in a basement apartment even after being here a whole year. Oh well. I put the cover on the stroller, grabbed a jacked, and we trekked out anyway. It really started pouring halfway through our walk to the store, but I trudged on, not wanting to go back without something. It was only drizzling by the time we made it home and hey, we made it, so I should get some gold stars or something, right? Maybe an extra big piece of those brownies tonight??

The best part was that Henry didn't seem to mind at all. I'm pretty sure he was loving watching the rain dot his stroller cover the whole time. What a great city boy.

  1. Oh my goodness, that picture is absolutely darling! Sometimes I am totally jealous of all the adventures you are having on the East :)

    1. Oh Jess, but you have the glory of the west, central air, washer/dryers in your apt…so many things that I am totally jealous of!
