blood oranges.

I interrupt your homework-doing productiveness for some quality entertainment.

I took some pictures of a blood orange I ate a month ago and still haven't posted them. I loved the contrasting colors on each peice so I decided to make a photo shoot out of it! So finally, for your viewing pleasure, an amateur photography post by yours truly.

I haven't had time to play with the pictures, but hopefully graduation will change that.

Now back to that presentation due tomorrow...

I just got a job in DC!

This summer Ryan and I will be in Washington, DC. Ryan was accepted into the Washington Seminar Program at BYU and will be interning at the Woodrow Wilson International Center doing political research...and stuff. I'm not quite sure, but he's really excited about it. I just got a job working for Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies, a coalition formed to prevent premature births and to address prenatal care. I'll mostly be working for a program called text4baby, a national campaign to give free text messages to new mothers and mothers to be about helping their baby become and stay healthy.

We're super excited for this summer and I can't wait to get out there, take a ton of pictures, and keep you all posted on what we do!

This semester is winding down at whirlwind pace and I'm a little nervous about a few of my classes, but excited to finally finish my degree. My parents are coming , along with Ryan's parents, to watch me graduate and I couldn't be more excited to spend time with my family before we head off across the country for an adventure!

tucanos.

It's true. I just made a reservation a month in advance to go to Tucanos after graduation.

Because after I graduate, I deserve to pig out on amazing food.

Meat. Pineapple. Potatoes. Salad. Fried Bananas.

I'm ready.

A Book Review: Freak the Mighty

So the bookclub that I'm in with some girls at church read a book called Freak the Mighty, by Rodman Philbrick.

I loved it.

I think I'm sticking to juvenile fiction from now on.

It's about a boy who's bigger than all the others his age (and who people think is dumb) and a boy who's a lot smaller than others his age (and as smart as a dictionary) and their adventures together. It's actually got some adult themes and it just makes me want to use my imagination so much more!!

I definitely recommend it. And you can read it in a day. So do it.

PS I went to the library yesterday, and I'm in love. I think I could live there.

Pi Day!

Yesterday was Pi Day! I completely forgot (I know, how could I?!?!) until I got a sweet e-mail from Pilsbury telling me that I should celebrate by making a real pie.

I didn't.

But did you know that there's an official website for it? Check it out.

We're celebrating tonight by memorizing pi.

Ryan asked me yesterday how far I knew.

I said "3.14"

Dissapointing, I know.

He knew "3.14159"

I knew I married a smarty-pants.
