the first post

Dear married-life blog,

So I actually made this blog address a month ago...but I didn't want to post since Ryan and I aren't married yet. But we're still not married and I'm going to post anyway since I'm VERY excited that I get to marry the most wonderful person in the whole wide world this Friday! All my emotions are going crazy right now, but I just thought I'd post ten thoughts that are on my mind as of now, as I prepare for the excitement that the end of the week holds!

  1. I get married in 2 days and 19 hours. Way back when, I made a countdown on my igoogle after we had decided to get married and it was 179 days. And now it's only TWO!
  2. My bridal shower last night was WAAAAY fun. Dev. 5 rocks my world--they are seriously the most amazing girls ever (and Lauren and Ashley and everyone else that helped-you're pretty bomb too)
  3. Lauren and Amy asked Ryan a twenty questions game before-hand and during the shower they asked me the same questions they asked me to see if we said the same things...and I got right on or pretty close almost every time. Meant. To. Be.
  4. I've been growing my nails out so that I can get a manicure on Thursday and they can do French Tips. I really like my nails, but it seems like because I'm growing them out for a reason all I want to do is secretly cut them off.
  5. My mom and sister..and I helped too..made a roast on Sunday. It was heavenly. And srsly I want to make a roast every Sunday. Are you listening Macey's? Put carrots, potatoes, and roast on sale immediately
  6. I conquered my fear of Otter Pops since last summer. The other day it was hotter than "hail" (as Kaylea would say) and I just had to have one. It was blue. And delicious.
  7. I don't know if you know this, but I'm getting married this Friday, and I am absolutely ecstatic. I'm pretty sure I've been sleeping well only due to the fact that Ryan is in each one of my dreams.
  8. All my family will be together Thursday and I'm so excited. I love my family. My crazy sisters. My amazing parents. And my brothers aren't half bad either.
  9. I hope Ryan posts on this thing sometimes. I'm interested in what he has to say in this web 2.0 world.
  10. On Friday, Ryan will be wearing a ring on his left hand. I'm totally used to mine now and if I ever take it off I feel like my ring finger is naked, but I think it'll definitely take some getting used to with his huge metal band. That ring of his is heavy!
  11. I know I just said ten thoughts, but with everything racing around my mind all the time, I just had to post one more: Other than the sheer excitement and joy and utter wordless emotions of happiness running through me every second, I'm especially grateful that with all the chaos that has been in the engagement process, there hasn't been any HUGE drama this week, and I don't think there will be. I get to marry an amazing man on Friday and my and his family get to be there. I love Ryan Mangum. I get to be related to him on Friday, how cool is that?!
Love,
the future Emily D. Mangum
